Yeay! It’s simple and fun!
First, following Copaint’s core principles, start by gathering 1. great company and 2. delicious food & drinks (cheers to that! 🥂) before diving into your copainting activity.
Depending on your party size (check our guide available here), select your favorite Copaint digital design(s) from our Design Store.
Then print your squares with our Squares' Generator tool. Additional downloads available on this page include detailed setup instructions for your copainting activity, along with a complete list of supplies and references.
Make sure to plan your copainting event at least one week in advance, and ensure you have access to a printer.
Copaint events are designed to be self-supervised. However, if you'd like to hire an experienced Copaint artist from our team to facilitate your event, we'd love to help —please reach out!
If gathering painting supplies yourself and home printing isn’t convenient enough, you can order a complete painting kit instead. At the moment, we sell painting kits on demand only — please contact us if you're interested!
Each kit includes paints, brushes, a prepared Copaint canvas, your printed design(s), and painting instructions for your guests.
If you're planning a special event, like a wedding (congratulations! 🎉) or a large conference, we'd be happy to customize the how-to instruction sheets to match your event’s visual identity.
Depends on your event' scale and type! Consult our guide available here to ensure you select a design that matches your event’s characteristics. The actual canvas size will be recommended in the downloaded instructions attached with your design. The Copaint design shape — whether square, portrait, or landscape — is really up to your personal taste.

Yes, kids can copaint too! Just pick easy squares for them. At past copainting activities we’ve organized, children as young as 4 have participated under their parents' supervision.
We recommend placing the canvas horizontally on a table so that your guests can paint from all sides. Up to six people can copaint on the same canvas at once: for a big event, we suggest installing multiple Copaint canvases. Read more in our Design size guide, available here.
For Copaint Mini formats, due to the smaller canvas size, up to two people can copaint at once.
If you prefer to set up your Copaint canvas on an easel instead, a maximum of two to three people can copaint at the same time. Though this setup option may appear more stylish, we do not encourage it for practical reasons.
Copainting is a fun and engaging complementary activity for any event: we recommend allowing at least two hours for the copainting activity to ensure the canvas is fully completed, as it takes an average of 15 to 20 minutes per guest to paint a square.
When hosting Copaint stations at weddings, we typically set up the canvas during the cocktail 🥂 and it is usually completed by dessert!
If you are considering copainting as your principal group activity (read more here), which is a great idea for team-building socials or retreats, book a 1h to 2h slot for the activity.
Painting a Copaint Mini design takes between 1 and 2.5 hours, depending on the number of guests and the chosen design.
Well, you’ll be playing with paint, so yes, potentially — but don’t worry! Acrylic paint washes off easily with water and soap 🧼. We’ve hosted many copainting events, especially at weddings with elegantly dressed guests, and we’ve never had a single incident to report so far! 🤞
Absolutely not! Copainting is accessible to everyone. Among the downloaded instructions, you’ll find painting refresher tips for your guests — just in case the last time they held a brush was 20+ years ago 🤭. Plus, every Copaint design includes easy-to-paint squares.
Some designs, as indicated by the number of palettes 🎨🎨🎨 in our Design Store, require at least one more experienced painter to handle finer details, such as eyes or key elements, for a polished finish.
Don't worry if a square looks odd! Let’s not forget that painting is endlessly adaptable — just let the paint dry, then add touch-ups or paint over it! 🖌️
The only risk is getting addicted, and organizing a Copaint station at every event! 👨🎨👩🎨🧑🎨
